MATCH PREVIEW | Red Devils next up for Rhinos Reserves

Leeds Rhinos Reserves look to move a step closer to confirming a place in this year's Reserves Grand Final as Chev Walker's side take on Salford Red Devils at AMT Headingley this Friday, kick off 5.30pm.
In the first game of Friday's double header against the Red Devils, the Rhinos Reserves look to extend their current run of four straight wins that has seen them move two points clear at the top of the table, with Warrington, Wigan and Hull FC all in the chasing pack on 14 points. The black and whites are the only side to inflict defeat on Leeds this campaign, but the Rhinos responded with convincing wins over the Warriors and Wolves to continue their run towards a first Reserves Grand Final appearance since the competition returned in 2022.
It's been a stellar season for the club's youth teams so far, after the Reserves opened the campaign with four consecutive wins against Leigh, Huddersfield, St Helens and Bradford to put themselves in contention for a finish in the top two spots of the league table. With a month of the season now remaining, they look forward to two home games against the Red Devils and Bradford Bulls, before finishing the campaign on the road against Castleford. Two wins would mathematically seal Leeds' place in the Grand Final, as Hull, Wigan and Warrington have games against each other in the final three fixtures of the season.
A tough season for the Red Devils sees Salford sit in 11th place in the league standings with two wins so far this season.
After finishing 2024 with five wins in 11 games, Stuart Wilkinson's side have been unable to replicate the same form as they've only managed two wins this season. After bouncing back from defeat to Castleford with a 40-16 triumph over Bradford Bulls in March, they only managed one more win against Huddersfield in April as they've lost out to Hull, Wakefield, St Helens and Warrington in their most recent matches.
Friday's game against Leeds sets up a tough run as the Red Devils host Hull KR next, before a rematch against Huddersfield could see the club finish the year on a high.
